- In commodities, oil prices slumped a further 2 per cent to multi-month lows on Monday as the rising number of cases of the new China virus deepened concerns about demand for crude. Brent crude fell by $1.12 a barrel to $59.57.
*At 8:30 am, the Singaporean Exchange for Nifty Futures was at 12,158.50, down 114 points or 0.93 per cent
- Investors will react to ICICI Bank's Q3 results on Monday. A total of 58 companies, including Torrent Pharma, Dr Reddy's, and HDFC are scheduled to announce their December quarter results today.
- At 8:37 am, Brent Crude Futures were at $58.52 per barrel-mark, down 2.3 per cent.
- WTI Crude was at $52.85 per barrel.
- At 8:55 am, the Singaporean Exchange for Nifty Futures was at 12,152.50, down 120 points or 0.98 per cent
- Rupee opens lower at 71.51/$ vs Friday's close of 71.32 against the US dollar
- Bank of Baroda declines 3% as slippages rise, nos miss estimates
- Prestige Estates Projects surge 4% in early trade Consolidated Q3 net profit at Rs 216 crore versus Rs 67.4 crore, revenue was at Rs 2,680.9 crore versus Rs 1,053.5 crore.
- JSW Steel falls 4% Q3 profit plunged 88.3% to Rs 187 crore, revenue fell 11.1% to Rs 18,055 crore .

- ICICI Bank rises 2% post robust Q3 show ICICI Bank share price rose 2 percent in the early trade on January 27 after company registered a healthy 158.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in Q3FY20 profit at Rs 4,146.46 crore during the quarter, from Rs 1,604.91 crore in the same period last year.
- It is a weak start for the Indian indices on January 27 with Nifty slipped below 12,200.
- The Sensex is down 182.51 points or 0.44% at 41430.68, and the Nifty down 60.90 points or 0.50% at 12187.40. About 314 shares have advanced, 448 shares declined, and 53 shares are unchanged.
- ICICI Bank, TCS, Dr Reddy's Lab and TCS are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are JSW Steel, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and Yes Bank.
- Tata Steel declines 3% (468.63 ) 3.02% down
- Dr Reddy's reports net loss of Rs 569.7 cr in Q3FY20 because of impairment of non-current assets of Rs 1,320 cr
- Rupee off day's low The Indian rupee erased some of its early losses but trading lower at 71.44 per dollar versus Friday's close of 71.33.
- Pharma shares gain; Dr Reddy's, Alembic, Divis, Laurus Labs hit 52-wk highs
- Reliance Capital hits all-time low of Rs 9.32, falls below face value of Rs 10
- Wockhardt Q3 result Consolidated net profit at Rs 9.6 cr vs loss of Rs 71.1 cr , Cons revenue at Rs 869.2 crore vs Rs 1,045.7 cr .
