  • Sensex closed Monday 137 points, or 0.34 percent, higher at 39,872.31 and Nifty settled 46 points, or 0.39 percent, higher at 11,707.90.

  • A total of 105 companies are scheduled to report their Q3FY20 numbers on Tuesday, including Bharti Airtel and Titan Company.
  • Globally, a fragile calm gripped Asian shares on Tuesday as investors waited to see if Beijing could stem the rout in Chinese assets. In early trade, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan inched up 0.1 per cent. Japan's Nikkei pared opening losses to be off 0.2 per cent.

  • It is a positive start for the Indian indices on February 4 with Nifty above 11,800.
  • The Sensex is up 298.45 points or 0.75% at 40170.76, and the Nifty up 90.10 points or 0.77% at 11798. About 595 shares have advanced, 142 shares declined, and 20 shares are unchanged. 
  • RIL, TCS, Tata Motors, IOC, HDFC, Shriram Transport, Coal India and Zee Entertainment are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are Bajaj Auto and Manappuram Finance.

  • TCS gains 1.5% as it bags $1.5 bn contract from Walgreens Boots Alliance
  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) gained over 1.5 per cent on Tuesday after the company said it has bagged a $1.5 billion (about Rs 10,650 crore) contract from pharma company Walgreens Boots Alliance, spread over a period of 10 years. Under the contract, TCS will provide managed services including application maintenance and support, required infrastructure and security operations.

  • CLOSING BELL , The S&P BSE Sensex zoomed 917 points or 2.30 per cent to settle at 40,789 levels while the NSE's Nifty50 index ended at 11,980, up 272 points or 2.32 per cent. 




Market close: Benchmark indices rallied for the second consecutive day on February 4, which helped to erased all the Budget day losses with Nifty ended above 11,950 level.





At close, the Sensex was up 917.07 points or 2.30% at 40,789.38, while Nifty was up 271.80 points or 2.32% at 11,979.70. About 1590 shares have advanced, 875 shares declined, and 178 shares are unchanged. 





Titan Company, IOC, Bharti Infratel, Bajaj Finserv and BPCL were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Auto, Yes Bank, Eicher Motors and HUL.





Among sectors metal and energy indices rallied 3 percent each followed by infra, IT, pharma, FMCG and auto. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained over 1 percent each.
