  • Live SGX Nifty
  • Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a negative opening for the broader index in India, with a 306 points loss or 2.56 percent.
  • Sensex, Nifty & Nifty Bank post 1st monthly loss since August 2019. Market breadth favours declines; advance-decline ratio at 1:2. The Nifty fell 1.6 percent in January 2020. The BSE Sensex dropped 190 points to 40,723 while the Nifty50 closed 73 points lower at 11,962.
  • Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a negative opening for the broader index in India, with a 306 points loss or 2.56 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around 11,680-level on the Singaporean Exchange.
  • Oil prices extended declines on Monday, dragged down by worries about lower demand in the world’s largest oil importer-China, Reuters reported.
  • At 8:18 am, Brent Crude Futures were at $56.18 per barrel-mark, down 0.78 per cent.
  • At 8:16 am, the Singaporean Exchange for Nifty Futures was at 11,682, down 305 points or 2.5 per cent.
  • People’s Bank of China will supply 1.5 trillion yuan ($22 billion) to money markets on Monday, Feb 3, 2020.
  • Australia’s benchmark index opened 0.7 per cent lower, New Zealand shares faltered 1.8 per cent, while Futures for Japan’s Nikkei were slightly higher but still about 500 points below where the index closed on Friday.
  • In the commodities market, oil prices extended declines on Monday, dragged down by worries about lower demand in the world’s largest oil importer-China. Brent crude was at $55.83 a barrel by 6:17 am, down 79 cents, or 1.4 per cent.
  • The S&P BSE Sensex was up 33 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 39,770 levels. Asian Paints, Nestle India, and Hindustan Unilever (all up 3%) were the top gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, ITC and Hero MotoCorp (down 2% each) dipped the most.
  • IndusInd Bank gains in early trade
  • State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) on Saturday said it produced 451.52 million tonnes of coal in April-January period of the ongoing fiscal, a decline of 3.8 per cent. The company had produced 469.65 million tonnes (MT) of coal in the year-ago period, CIL said in a filing to the BSE.

  • ITC hits 52-week low: Share price of ITC slipped 3 percent to touched a 52-week low of Rs 211.95 on February 3 after government proposed to raise excise duty on tobacco and cigarettes.
  • ITC hits fresh 52-wk low; brokerages say increase in NCCD a big blow
  • ITC continued to bleed for the second consecutive day on Monday, after the Finance Minister, while presenting Union Budget 2020-21 on Saturday, proposed to increase the National Calamity Contingency Duty (NCCD) on cigarettes, hookah, chewing tobacco, snuff and tobacco extracts and essence. The stock slipped over 5 per cent and hit a fresh 52-week low of Rs 207.20 apiece on the BSE.
